Burberry hosted an event last night to celebrate the opening of its new flagship store in GUM overlooking the Red Square in Moscow.
Held at the Demonstration Hall within GUM, the party was attended by over 300 guests including Burberry Chief Executive Officer Marco Gobbetti, head of the BOSCO group of companies Mikhail Kusnirovich and GUM Chief Executive Officer Teimuraz Guguberidze.
Guests entered the event though doors flanked with a pair of mirrored unicorn fawn sculptures into a dark space illuminated by light reflections from a giant mirrored fawn sculpture at its centre. DJs Red Axes and Nikita Zabelin played sets throughout the evening and Russian band Shortparis performed live on a mirrored stage.
The new Burberry flagship store in GUM nods to the original architecture of the building featuring groin vaults and paneled walls throughout.
Set across two floors, the store features Burberry’s latest collections for men and women including its Autumn/Winter 2019 collection, Tempest, the Thomas Burberry Monogram collection, the brand’s Heritage Trench Coat collection as well as Burberry’s latest bag styles The Title Bag, The TB Bag and The Lola Bag.
Burberry currently has three stores in Moscow, including Petrovka and Vremena Goda.
